This is a simple bolt-on installation. I'd suggest buying a manual if the procedure is not obvious.
The Villager has an upper and lower intake manifold. It is at the top of the engine with the throttle body attached to it.
Lower right on the fuse box.
Top rear edge of the lower transmission housing.
In the lower part of the dashboard on the passenger side.
It's on the top rear edge of the lower transmission housing.

Screwed into the lower intake manifold right at the center of the engine in front.
Your 1996 Mercury Villager minivan with the 3.0 L - SOHC V6 engine is designed to use The Ford Motorcraft RT 1170 thermostat ( 190 degrees F / 88 degrees C )
Chevy Villager?
There are six fuel injectors that mount into the lower intake manifold. Only three can really be seen normally.
Look on the bottom or rear of the radiator or just remove the lower radiator hose
Use the tire wrench to turn the screw under the carpet in the cargo area to lower it. Consult your owner's manual.
