Hey Deborah==Remove the neg battery cable then the wires on the solonoid. Then take out the 2 bolts that hold it on. goodluckJoe
Disconnoct the negative battery terminal. After the car is up on appropriate support so one can work under it, the four bolts, 10MM, that hold the torque converter cover on must be remover and the cover removed. Then, put blocking or a small hydraulic floor jack under the starter and remove the front bolt that holds the heat shield to the starter. Then remove the two bolts,15MM, on the gear end of the motor. Slowly lower the starter down until the wiring can be removed. Be careful the stud(s) stays in place when the nut is removed. (Also when re-installing the new starter). Reverse the process to install the new starter.
Remove - battery cable Raise and support vehicle Remove wiring harness from top of starter Remove starter mounting bolts Remove starter
It's ontop the starter and has been for years and it's called the starter solenoid. You send 12 volts to it when you crank the car.
ask autozone
How do remove and replace the ignition switch of a 1983 Oldsmobile Regency?
if there is power, change coil. if there isn't power, change battery
Depends on the model
The SAC22 does not have a starter relay.
remove battery cable remove gear change lever remove two bolts thru starter then work it out .' that's it
I DO BELIEVE THE SOLENOID IS MOUNTED ON THE STARTER AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE STARTER TO REPLACE THE SOLENOID remove the starter and take it down to your local auto parts store. they can bench test the starter and give you the proper solenoid if it needs to be replaced.
disconnect the battery, jack the car's front end up or put on a lift. locate the starter and remove the two bolts. then remove the two wires ,reconnect wires to starter, then lift starter and rebolt, reconnect battery and your on your way not a hard job a front end lift or auto lift sure does help
There is a red wire from the alternator output to the starter battery connection post That wire has a fusible link in it that may blown if someone hooked up a battery backwards. I think the fuse link is located on the starter end.
