Altering cave works if you use the wonder tool in real life. her is a list of Pokemon that appear in it:

Other than the Ho-oh It really isn't that great, since you have to beat the Elite four for it to appear, but it supplies decent hard-to-get Pokemon in an easy-to-get location. And as for Ho-oh, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
nothing, not anymore at least. there used to be more pokemon around there, only able to unlock after you have been to a fire red/leaf green event via mystery gift.

sadly no such thing has ever happened and the altering cave was made useless for it's endless zubat encounters.

If you want to know what to do in AKA seafloor cavern or marine cave go to www.serebiinet.com.au/marinecave/emerald/ orseafloorcavern/emerald/Or listen carefully underwater cave is a cave that inhabits lugia and kyogre. The only way to get in there is to get all 5 stars on the trainer card and get every Pokemon in the hoenn pokedex then you will see Archie and Maxie looking at each other in sea floor cavern. Talk to them and they will say something about the underwater cavern and battle you on a 2on2 battle their Pokemon are extremely strong they have got: Maxie: Camerupt lvl 100, crobat lvl 100 and Groudon lvl 100 Archie: Sharpedo lvl 100 Crobat lvl 100 and kyogre lvl 100. Once you beat them They will give you 2 masterballs and a team aqua ball and a team magma ball. Go to meteor falls and find that the rock isn't blocking the way go down and a dive spot will be there and a sign saying: TEAM AQUA CAVERN DO NOT ENTER

then you dive down and see a submarine in the shape of kyogre then go further and team aqua wiill stop you and you battle Archie with same Pokemon except with lugia latios and latias and defeate him and he will give you a rare candy and go on and two legendary Pokemon kyogre and lugia lvl 75 will battle you. Catch them with the two master balls and TADA! You can go in there as many times and keep catching lugia and kyogre.
