EGR Valve (I'll try to upload some pics of this tomorrow.)

I'll first suggest making sure that you really need to replace this valve, mainly because it's very expense and non-returnable, and secondly, it's a pain-in-the-neck to change (it's not difficult, but tedious). Use a OBD-II reader to determine if the valve if faulty or go to a reliable mechanic.

The Job ...

If you find your air filter box (it should say Suzuki and be roughly behind the passenger side headlamp) follow the air intake line until you come to the fuel injector system (it's cylinder shaped and silver). Just behind that you should see a small six pronged plug and that is plugged into the EGR valve. Remove this by pushing the little tab on the plug and pulling gently. Then, there are two bolts facing toward the firewall that hold the valve in place. If I remember correctly they are 12mm. You probably won't be able to use a socket due to a bracket near the valve, but an open-end, or box-end wrench will do (that's what I used). Remove the bolts and using a hammer tap the old valve out. The gasket will be sticky, which is why the hammer is necessary. Try to get as much of the old gasket off as you can. A Dremel tool is very useful for this but be careful not to score the injector system or any lines or wires nearby. Then basically do the reverse to install the new valve. Put the bolts through the valve and the new gasket and tighten. Plug the six-prong plug back in and you're ready to go. You may want to disconnect the battery for a few seconds just to erase and pesky Service Engine messages which will still show up after the install, or if you have the OBD-II reader, you can use it to erase them. The Haynes manual for Tracker/Vitara is helpful if you have it, if not, I'll try to get pics up A.S.A.P.
