1) Check the message window to see which color of toner is empty. Press keys menu select - engine replace toner, select your appropriate color to be replaced until please wait flashes and you see open door
2) Fold output tray and remove any paper from the machine
3) Pull the lever and open the top cover (do not touch the transfer belt)
4) Open the front cover and check that the toner cartridge to be replaced has rotated to the exchange position.
5) Pull the handle on the toner cartridge toward you, and then pull the toner cartridge up to remove it.
6) Prepare a new toner cartridge.
7) Shake the cartridge a few times to distribute the toner.
8) Remove the cover from the toner roller.
9) Making sure the color of the toner cartridge to be installed is the same as that in the machine, Align the shaft on each end of the toner cartridge with its holders, and then insert the cartridge.
10) Press down on the toner cartridge until it snaps into place.
11) Close the front cover.
12) Carefully close the top cover.
To change the toner capacity status: Push the MENU button on the printer Use the left or right scroll arrows to get to where it says MEU ENGINE Hit MENU button again and it will show ENGINE CHANGE TONER SZ Push the MENU again and you should b able to scroll through each color and the STANDARD and HIGH CAPACITY settings With each cartridge set, push the MENU button as many times as needed to get out of all the menus
can you send a fax without a ink cartridge
If the problem is on the cartridge (as in your rather vague question) change the cartridge. You need to give more details for a specific answer.
it would seem that u can't. try this - turn on the printer and open the cartridge door, when u see the head move slightly to left about 20mm then PULL the power cord out the back of the printer and pull the head over to the cartridge change position then change your cartridge - job done... WERCAN printer

You can change the toner cartridge in a HP Laser Jet C9704A by opening up the printer and removing the old cartridge. Then snap the new one into place and close the printer back up again.
If you change the ink cartridge without letting the printer driver reset, it will think you are still using the old ink cartridge. Install the cartridge again using the "install new cartridge option". If you follow these directions you should not have a problem.
Pull back on the hammer, lift out the print wheel cartridge, drop in new cartridge and release hammer.
The yellow in your color cartridge is probably empty. Run a test sheet through to see what colors print. Or just change your cartridge.

It depends on where the copier is located. If it is in a home office, for instance than the owner should be able to change the cartridge using the instruction manual. In an office setting, generally the adminstrative assistant is responsible for such tasks.
