Are you sure you need to replace the fan motor? I am in the process of switching out the fan sensor (about 15 bucks at Ford) which controls the power to the ac/ heater fan. I pulled my heater motor out in about five minutes and tested the motor with two old wires I had laying around my garage and touch them to the posts of a battery. (Be sure you have the plastic fan part facing upward and not contacting anything if you go this route) My fan was fine. The other choise is the Autozone 10 dollar fan switch. The more research I have read seems to point to the sensor etc. I ordered one today to get the fan back on in this Ford cheap product of a car. This is my daughters car and at 99 K miles todate with main repairs: New radiator Moduce (computer to get AC to work again) Alternator Now heater sensor etc. I am sure the list will keep going. My son has a 96 Honda Civic and this car has had timing belts and water pump replaced along with basis breaks and tires. Mileage to day 175000 miles and still running strong. My friend has one with 250K miles and no major instances for repairs. (FORD are you listening to the the quality issue here) LOL!
the heater blower is located under the dash on the passenger side. easy to change ,4 skrews.
To change the heater blower motor on a 2000 Chevrolet Astro Van open your hood. After you open the hood you will see the heater box on he passenger side remove the four bolts holding the motor in and pull it out.
The blower may simply have burned out. If the blower is out then the heater probably still works.
resistor for fan blower is in back of glove box, beside the blower itself.
how to change the blower motor
The blower on the back heater may need to be replaced on the 2000 Ford Winstar.
If a 2000 Grand Am sometimes has the heater blower working and sometimes it won't, the problem could be with the heater relay switch. The heater relay switch lets the heater blower know when to come on and when to go off. In most vehicles this switch is behind the glove compartment. This part sometimes gets corroded from condensation in this area.
fuse or relay most likely
