Once you finally figure it out, you really do feel like an idiot. I was changing my bulbs and it was frustrating. But the secret is that there are springs that hold the bulb in place. First, you need to reach behind the housing [under the hood] and pull out the electrical wiring. It's a force to be reckoned with, as it takes much physical exertion; but don't be scared if it seems like you're pulling too much on something that doesn't want to seem to budge. Now taking out the bulb is the difficult part to explain. I remember fiddling with the bulb for a loooong time. I finally started to feel around the perimeter of the bulb and felt two little...pieces of wire? (I don't know how to describe them, but trust me, you'll feel them) sticking out. I squeezed those and out popped the bulb. And it was amazing. I felt like a complete imbecile because I had been sitting there for hours trying to figure out how to get the bulbs out. I know this isn't a very descript explanation, but it helps somewhat, I guess. You should get the auto repair guide for the Civ. It helps out in ways you wouldn't even imagine.

Thank you so much. Your description was perfect. Those lights are a pain in the butt to replace!

To change the window regulator on a 1997 Honda Civic the door panel will need to be removed. Once removed the regulator will be visible and can be replaced by taking off the mounting hardware.
