I own a 1998 Deville D'Elegance and had my Drivers Side power window motor go out, upon removing the door panel (the screws are hidden) I encountered a large metal plate covering the entire door, there didn't appear to be an easy way to remove it without disconnecting the side airbag and other items such as the door handle so I took it to my local Chevy dealer (after calling the Cadillac dealer for a quote) and had the motor, master window switch (the one in the drivers door that operates all 4 windows) and labor done for around $500. This is in NW Florida and was about a year ago.
how do you replace the window regulater on a 89 cadillac deville?
as long as they both do not have Heated windshield yes it will fit. from 1994-1999
i cant find the fuse for my 96 cadillac deville for the power windows
The fuse panel in a 1999 Cadillac Deville is on the driver side dash panel. You will have to open the car door to access the panel.
The window relay on a 1967 Deville is located behind the drivers side door panel. You will have to remove the door panel to expose the relay system.
can someone please tell how to get the door panel off to replace the window motor to my cadillac coupe deville
Cadillac did not produce a DEVILLE convertible in 1983. ELDORAO yes. If it is a 1983 DEVILLE convertible, its custom made. To start remove the lower rear seat cushion and inside trim. Sorry I cant help further not knowing its customizing technique.
Bad regulator maybe?
if it's not electric it probably fell off the track
The 1997 Cadillac power window relay switch can be found inside of the drivers side door. You will need to remove the inside door panel in order to access the power window relay switch.
Go to AutoZone, and they will print you out a exploded view of the lock mechanism.
I'm having the same issue. Any help, guys?
no. the only diff between a concours and a devile is engine trans and mouldings the interiors are basically identical
the door wiring harness in the dood is damaged
take of the door panel and apply power and ground to the motor only takes about 10 minutes to get the panel on and off.
Sounds like your master drivers side window switch is on its way out. If you can find a working used one you can save some money. It will interchange with Cadillac Deville, Fleetwood FWD 4 doors from 85-93. Also a lot of the 4 door Olds 98 (85-90) and Olds 88 (86-91) have the IDENTICAL switch.
Remove the cover in the rear window.
Replace power window relay.Located under drivers side scuff plate.
its under the passenger side glove compartment. im not sure which one it is but you can got to the nearest auto store and look at a chiltons auto book and it will tell you.
The main window fuse could be bad. Or, the power window relay could be bad. The most common problem is a wiring problem (loose connection, broken wire) keeping the system from getting power.
remove inside door panel, let window all the way up and remove related linkage and unbolt handle, installation is the reverse of removal, you'll need a 10mm socket or maybe an 11mm,remove two bolts holding handle in place.

Try searching for "Cadillac window motor + install" in your browser. May take a bit but I think you can find it somewhere. Maybe owners clubs.....
the regulator and motor need replaced. they can both be ordered on line for about $65. and have a local car window shop install them for a $100 or less. the regulator will come with the motor installed. just make sure you order the new regulator with motor. a local cadillac shop or window repair shop will try to charge you over $500 to fix
