Depends on your OS.
Boot in safe mode, press f8 key before Windows loads. Log in as Administrator. Err, then control panel, User accounts, then you can change the name of the Admin account.
It will depend on the type of operating system you are using, as to how you change your "Computer Name".
For Windows XP, you can change your name on the "Computer Name" tab in the "System Properties" dialogue box. Here is a "click-by-click" way to get there:
-- Right Click on the "Start" button.
-- Click on the "Explore" option.
-- In the window that comes up, scroll to the top of the left panel and look for the "My Computer" icon.
-- Right Click on the "My Computer" Icon (you can skip previous steps if you have one on your desktop or otherwise readily available)
-- Select the "Properties" option which should be at the bottom of the resulting drop down.
-- Click on the "Computer Name" tab in the "System Properties" dialogue box.
-- Enter a new name in the "Computer Description"
-- Click "OK" or "Apply" at the bottom of the "System Properties" dialogue box.
You may need to reboot your computer for this to take effect.
You may need to use the "Change" button (same place as the "Computer Description" field) for more complicated name changes including things like domain.
One does not simply override Microsoft.
They will always be the admin
Start->Control Panel->System->Computer Name, on the Computer name tab locate and click on Change. Type in the field Computer name the name which to want to have, press ok. You will have to restart your PC after you have changed the computer name.
You can change the name of the computer from the Sharing section of System Preferences.

It means there are two "computer name" are same on your network. To solve this problem Go to My computer's properties then click on computer name then click on "Change" and change your Computer name like server, client, mycomputer etc. click on Ok. The system ask you to restart your computer, click on yes and restart your computer. Your problem is solved.

The name of the computer can be changed in the Mac OS X System Preferences' Sharing section.
To change a host name in Windows XP, click start, control panel, performance and maintenance, and then system. From the system screen, click the computer name tab, enter the new computer name in the dialog box, and click OK three times. Restart the computer for the change to become permanent.

The components can't be changed. They are digitally signed. The only way is to over haul the computer.
