Answeryou locate the oilpan then remove the bolt and drain the oil then change the filter replace the bolt in the oilpan and add new oil

Tools needed;

Oil filter wrench

7/16 open or box (crestent will do in a pinch)

oil tub with pour spout

funnel

2-1 gallon empty milk containers

Engine should be left to cool so the draining oil is not hot, warm not hot is best.

I open the hood and take off the oil filler cap so the oil drains faster

place some cardboard under the truck for my comfort and accidental spills at the drain and oil filter

place oil tub under drain and pull the drain plug lst drain for a few minutes

optional is to pour 1/2 q after old oil drained to flush pan sludge

replace drain plug

place oil tub under filter pull off old filter

clean the filter seat with a clean rag

fill new filter with new oil almost to the top (primes the pump so to speak) and rub a drop or 2 of oil on the rubber gasket

install new filter

add new oil replace filler cap

let sit for a few minutes use time to pour old oil into the milk jugs my funnel fits the oil filter perfectly so I can prop up the filter to drain into the jugs to to save oil getting into the dump/ground water

start engine and check for leaks

put old oil out for recycle

Takes me about fifteen to twenty minutes to complete with clean up
