I change the oil for my 1998 E320 by driving up on ramps then adding jack stands for insurance. I have a drain pan under the drain plug and unscrew it when the engine is warm- not hot. Using the kit from my dealer, I replace the plug with a new copper seal. Above, I remove the black engine cover by pulling it up then unscrew the oil filter housing (CCW) with very large pliers. I remove the filter & seals and replace with all new. Rescrew fliter housing back in. 8 Qt.s of 40W Valvoline. I don't like multi viscosity oil and my wagon has high mileage. I start the enigne and check for leaks then drive off the ramps. Shut off engine, clean up and recheck oil level, might need a quart.
