I am guessing the yours is either dead or it is bouncing around. 1. It is located on the back side of the engine. Looking from the front it will be on the drivers side, with three wires hooked to a plug on the sending unit. 2. Once removed and ready to install the new one, coat the threads with a Teflon pipe dope and screw in. You might have to remove the Distributor cap to get better access to the sending unit.
where are the temperature sending unit located on a 1990 Chevy engine 5.7

It is right behind the distributor, screewed into the top of the engine block.
There is only one wire and it should be black.
The transmission must be removed to change the flywheel.
fords don't have a 350 the 350 is a Chevy motor
The oil pressure sending unit on my 1997 silverado is on the top of the engine behind the intake manifold. It took a while to find it.I had to climb on top of the engine and look down to the block up near the firewall I was having eratic oil pressure readings and the sending unit was the problem.
It does not have a timing belt. The cam is chaindriven.
unhook the wire, screw the whole sensor out then thread the new one in and hook up the wire
The oil pressure switch is directly behind the carburator. Between the distributor and the carb.
