First locate the oxygen sensor. It is screwed into the exhaust pipe close to where the exhaust pipe is connected to your exhaust manifold.unplug the electrical connector.Unscrew the sensor snd remove it.Replace it by screwing in and tightening the new sensor and plug up the electrical connection. My 1999 4.8 liter silvarado has 4 oxygen sensors and they aren't cheap.Unless you are sure which one needs replacing, and I believe Chevy recommends changing both at the same time,I recommend you take it to a garage and let them connect their computer to it.This will tell them which ozygen sensor it is.You will pay a small diagnostic charge for this service but its a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing sensors till you get to the right one.Hope this helped.
The oxygen sensors on a 1998 Chevrolet S10 are changed by disconnecting the lead wire and unscrewing them from the exhaust manifold. New sensors are then screwed into place and the wires reattached.
All oxygen sensors are always screewed into the exhaust system/pipes, there will never be any after the muffler. There about 3 to 4 inches long with a electric wire connector pluged into them.
That year has 2 oxygen sensors.
There are approximately 2 oxygen sensors on a 2005 Chevrolet Astro van. The oxygen sensors can be purchased at stores such as NAPA.
I had this very same problem with my Chevrolet Silverado. The only thing that will cure this problem is replacing all your Oxygen Sensors and running premium fuel.

All oxygen sensors are located in the exhaust system either before or after the catalytic converter.
They are located before and after the catalytic converters in the exhaust system.

ONLY when they go bad. Not untill.
The 02 sensors are in the exhaust pipes but don't know about the updraft sensors.
They are screewed into the exhaust pipes. There will not be any after the muffler.
in the exhaust in front of the cats and behind the cat almost looks like spark plug
There are 4 of them. 2 Up streams and 2 down streams.
there is one right below exhaust manifold and one right after the cat. they both have connectors and use and adjustable wrench should get the job done.
Yes, one before and one after the catalytic converter.
They are screwed into the exhaust system / pipes. Unscrew them and replace.
It will require a special socket with a slot down the side so as not to damage the wiring. It may be cheaper to have a shop do it as the sensors do not go bad very often.
