I just did thisd on my 90 pickup v6. There are two high pressure lines and one return line. Parts were purchased from napa with a better warrenty and half price. Napa provided me a copy of a diagram that showed the exact location of my hoses which needed a 22mm wrench and a screw driver for the low pressure side. The 22 mm wrench removes the bolts which have 2 copper washers one for each side of the hose fittings. The new washers come with hose from Napa. Simply take out the hoses one at a time and then replace the same hose as soon as it is removed. very easy job, took 35 minutes without a lift. Good luck

The best place to find a diagram of hoses for a 1992 Toyota pickup power steering is in the owner's manual. Most auto part stores will also have a diagram of the hose.

Yes you can install power steering. I have installed it in my 84 pickup. You will need the power steering box and the gear box with hoses. I pulled them off a pickup at a wrecking yard, which is best, since everything is already there and you can see how it is setup.

The connection between the power steering to the vacuum hoses is called the hydraulic brake booster. It supplies the vehicle with fluid pressure from the power steering down to the hoses.รŠ

Power steering hoses are under pressure and have to be repaired with specialty tools. The hose either has to be repaired by a hydraulic hose company or replaced entirely.

take off serpentine belt unbolt powersteering pump and hoses and drain it. That's it.

pull the p/s pulley off of the pump, the rest is easy.

Yes you can. The best way to go would be to locate a donor car for all the parts needed for the change over, such as the power steering box, power steering pump, mounting brackets, pulleys, hoses, nuts and bolts and belt.

User Avatar

Yes you can. Go to a auto wrecking yard and purchase the power steering box, hoses, belts, pulleys and pump, along with all the brackets and bolts from the same truck as yours that has power steering.

Yes.It can be converted . You will need to install a power assisted steering rack, power steering pump, belts and hoses.

The power steering pump on a 1997 Cadillac Deville is changed by disconnecting the pressure hoses, draining the fluid, and unbolting the pump. It is then pulled from the vehicle and a new pump mounted in place.

You've got radiator hoses, heater hoses, power steering hoses, vacuum line hoses, etc. Probably best if you purchased a shop repair manual for that vehicle to show how/where they are routed.

There are more than a dozen vacuum hoses in your Chevrolet S 10 pickup truck. The majority of the vacuum hoses are connected to the transmission and the air cleaner. The vacuum hoses are also connected to the fuel injection system.

Check the steering valves, pump, hoses and cylinders in the power steering system. Make sure the hoses are fairly flexible. The hoses can get a little stiff in hot weather. The pump should draw down the RPM of the engine if it is working correctly. The control valves on the linkage system must be clean and be able to operate smoothly. Dirt can wreak havoc with the smooth flow of a power steering system. Also, make sure the power steering fluid is at the recommended level.

User Avatar

either look for the power steering pump attached to the engine if you're not sure look for the steering rack or steering box and look for hoses.

User Avatar

Probably the hoses for the power steering pump or fittings on the hoses. Try replacing them first. They're not that hard to replace an relatively cheap.
