remove the inspection plate this will drain the gear oil once the plate is off you will see a pinion shaft going thru the two spider gears this is held in by a bolt with a 8mm head carefully remove this bolt . the bolts are bad to break and when they do you have a major problem getting them out . once this bolt is out remove the pinion shaft on the end of each axle is a c clip once you remove the c clips the axles will slide out sometimes you can slide the axles in enough to remove the c clips without even taking the wheels off i have slid axles out with wheels and brake drums still attached however if it will not slip enough then you mus remove wheels and brke drums once the axles are out you will need a slide hammer made for removal of axle bearings to get the bearings out of the housing also inspect your axles for wear where the axle bearings ride these are famous for wearing out the axle bearing is a #6408 seal is a 8835s i use the old bearing as a driver for the new bearing drive in with a hammer until fully seated carefully drive in a new seal with a ball pein hammer then install axles install pinion shaft seal plate with rtv silcione and fill with gear oil good luck
