Well, I learned one other thing about this...the Autolite Platinum plugs that I used didn't seem to screw in as far as the Motorcraft ones that were in before, and they didn't. As I was driving (at 65 mph on the interstate) I heard a rattling noise, then a bang, sparks flew out from the side, and the engine noise increased greatly. 2 of the plugs blew out. I don't know if it was because of the angle the plugs are on, but those autolite ones just don't seem to go in well, so I don't recommend using them. I know I won't again.
-mikegonzo0351: If it took you 6 hours to change the plugs something was wrong. I didn't remove nothing. No tire or dust shield. the explorer is high enough to get underneith and just stick your arm up in there to get the last plug on the passenger side and if you stick your arm down where the coolant reservoir and ac piping you can reach the other 3 on the passenger side with some finess. the driver side you DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE STEERING!!! just work underneith it and just feel for it and you'll be fine.
total time for me was 1hr tops to do all 8 plugs for the first time.
A 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer has the 5R55E automatic transmission with the 4.0 liter SOHC , V6 engine , and the 4R70W automatic transmission with the 5.0 liter V8 engine
It is either a 4.0 liter v6 or a 5.0 liter v8
The maximum towing capacity of the 1993 Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Explorer is 5,200 pounds. This is for a 4.0 Liter V6 engine.
( 5 quarts ) with engine oil filter change for the 4.0 liter V6 and 5.0 liter V8
The 4.0 liter SOHC has ( 3 ) timing chains
I believe that is 160 horsepower for your 4.0 liter EFI , V6
( 8 spark plugs ) for your 4.6 liter V8 engine in a 2002 Ford Explorer
Actually, that question is for any vehicle. They are not the same. But what are you talking about now. A 1992 and 1994 look the same, but there are minor differences in the engine and inside of the vehicles. So be more specific answer 1995 ford explorer came with following trims Limited, Expedition, Eddie Bauer, Sport, XLT and XL. All the trims had 4.0 liter V6 engine 1999 ford explorer came with following trims XLS , Limited, Eddie bauer, Sport, XLT nad XL. out of these Eddie Bauer and XLT have 5.0 liter V8 engine.
With engine oil filter change : ( 5 quarts ) of 5 w 30 for the 4.0 liter V6 engine ( 5 quarts ) of 5 w 20 for the 5.0 liter V8 engine according to the Owner Guide
1996 to 2000 , 5.0 liter V8 ( 5W-30 ) 2001 , 5.0 liter V8 ( 5W-20 ) 2002 and newer 4.6 liter V8 ( 5W-20 )

what color antifreeze goes into a 2000 ford Eddie Bauer explorer 5.0 ltr V8 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In a 2000 Ford Explorer : According to the owners manual all engines ( 4.0 liter OHV , 4.0 liter SOHC , and 5.0 liter V8 ) came from the factory with ( green color antifreeze , meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A )
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I believe the answer is ( NO ) From what I've read , there were ( 3 ) different engine blocks for the 4.0 liter OHV , V6 engine used in a Ford Explorer ( 1991 to 1994 ) ( 1995 and 1996 ) ( 1997 to 2000 )
Either a 4.6 liter V8 or the 5.4 liter V8 ( 281 cubic inch or 330 cubic inch )
I own A 1994 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer with a 5.0 liter engine. The answer to your question is the oil capacity is exactly 6 quarts for an oil change.
Either the 5.4 liter ( 330 cubic inch ) or the 4.6 liter ( 281 cubic inch ) V8 The 4.6 liter is the " windsor " , the 8th character of the VIN is a " 6 "
In a 1992 Ford Explorer ( all models ) There was only ( 1 ) engine available from the factory The 4.0 liter Over Head Valve ( pushrod design ) V6 engine The 8th " character " of the VIN is an " X " ( as far as I know , 1991 to 1994 models had the same engine block )
In a 1996 Ford Explorer , 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine : From what I have read the camshaft position sensor is located on the top of the engine , near the centerline , at the rear of the engine near the firewall . Apparently you can't see it until the upper intake manifold is removed
There are 4. 1 pre cats and 2 cats
For a 2000 Ford Expedition : The 4.6 liter V8 engine uses the ( 4R70W ) The 5.4 liter V8 engine uses the ( 4R100 )
The curb weight of a 1991 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer edition with a 5.8 liter V8 motor is 4,430 pounds. This weight is when the vehicle is empty.
According to the 2005 Ford Expedition Owner Guide the 5.4 liter V8 takes : ( 7 quarts ) with engine oil filter change
Your 1991 Ford Explorer 4.0 liter takes 5 quarts ( 4.7 liters ) of motor oil WITH FILTER CHANGE
