ON EITHER SIDE OF TRUNK CONPARTMENT YOU WILL SEE A CIRCULAR SHAPED ACCESS TRIM,THROUGH THERE A PLASTIC SPEED NUT CAN BE SEEN,UNSCREW AND GENTLE PULL BACK THE LENSE (TOWARDS THE OUTSIDE ,THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY SHOULD FOLLOW,UNSCREW LIGHT SOCKET AND CHANGE BULB.
To elaborate on this, there is a clip on the inside edge (toward the hatch lid) that will let you pull the light assembly out. Put a small skinny screwdriver under the rubber gasket at the point that the two fender pieces join and push firmly. This will pop the clip and the tail light assembly can be pulled out.

1999 Volkswagen Beetle how to change spark plugs
I have to replace my brake booster on my 99 vw beetle elite. I need the instructions on how to do this. Any ideas. Thanks
Don't bother. The brake light switch on 1999 beetles (maybe all of them, actually) have been recalled. Unless you get it changed, the brake lights will keep going out. Call your local dealer and they should change it for free, mine did about 8 months ago. Still, this doesn't seem to fix the problem as my brake light is out. It may only be a burned out bulb though.
Had the same problem with mine. The dealership told me it was the backup light switch. I had the same problem, as do 99% of VW beetle owners. There was a recall on the Brake Light Switch. Call your dealer and they should change it for free. I did. It worked for a bit, but now i think one of my brake lights is out again.
Remove the wheel and tire assembly and the brake caliper then the brake rotor will slide right off.
Corroded brake wheel cylinder, or caliber, parking brake stuck.
on my 95 i took the driver side tire and brake assembly off to get to it on my 95 i took the driver side tire and brake assembly off to get to it
Lift the car on a vehicle jack, remove the tire and set it aside, remove the brake shoe/caliper, remove the brake pad. Dispose of the old brake pad, put in the new brake pad, replace the brake shoe/caliper, put the tire back on the car, and lower the car to the ground.

To change the brake light switch on a 1999 Deville, remove the screws on the switch. It is located right on top of the brake pedal under the dash. It works as an open circuit.

OPEN THE TRUNK AND AND FIND WHERE THE LIGHTS SEAT UP TOWARD THE TRUNK THERE SHOULD BE SOME WIRING THERE, THAT UNSCREWS FROM THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY.

Changing the brake light relay switch on your 1999 Chevy Cavalier is quite easy. The brake light switch simply plugs in and out.
Pull back the carpet and remove the 2 plastic "wing nuts". This will allow the entire taillight assembly to hang loose. Remove the bulb assembly by turning it 1/4 turn and replace the bulb.
Open the tailgate, notice the two small screws on the side of the tail light assembly, remove the two screws and you can then wiggle the tail light assembly out to expose the sockets and wiring.
Open the trunk and take out the two Phillips screws. The light assembly slides inward and will then come off. Pop the old light out and replace it.
TO CHANGE THE WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLY YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE WHEEL THEN LOOSEN THE SPINDLE NUT. REMOVE THE BRAKE CALIPER AND BRAKE ROTOR, ON THE BACK OF THE BEARING ASSEMBLY REMOVE THE THREE BOLTS THAT HOLD IT IN PLACE. UNPLUG THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR IF APPLICIBLE. REMOVE THE SPINDLE NUT. THATS THE BEST I CAN REMEMBER, ITS BEEN A WHILE.
