All you need to do is pop the trunk open, and you'll see a screw near the reverse light. Un-screw that, and then gently pull the taillight out, and you will see th wiring harness, and from there, it's a snap!

For the 1994 model (B3000), you can't change just the bulb. You have to change the headlight assembly.

User Avatar

You just have to pull back the trim in the trunk to access the fasteners for the taillight assembly. Once you remove the taillight assembly just replace the bulb.

You need to remove the tail light from the vehicle body. There are two #2 Phillips screws visible near the front outer edge of the taillight that need to be removed. Drop the tailgate and you will see two additional screws, ususally silver in color, that hold the inner part of the taillight body in place. The bulb socket will twist out by rotating counterclockwise about 45'.

very simple, open trunk, turn bulb socket to the left and pull socket and bulb from rear taillight, twist bulb out of the socket and install new bulb and install bulb and socket back into taillight and turn right to lock it in.

how do you replace a taillight on a Honda 2002 Civic?

User Avatar

Basically, there are three bolts that you need to take out. Then you pull off the tailight assembly. Replace the bulb as required and then replace the taillight on the car ncmuding any bolts you removed. Refer to your owner's manual.

to change the bulb you go in from the backside, if its burned out you only need to replace the bulb. its similar to replacing a taillight bulb
