My 2003 CRV has a drain bolt on the transmission pan, i just open the drain and put it back and fill it back up with Transmission Fluid....But i usually buy the tranny fluid from the dealer....
It is my understanding that unless the transmission is backflushed you have to repeat the process three times. That is, drain then refill and drive a short distance and then drain refill and drive twice more. It's still cheaper than having my dealer backflush the thing. Also, I don't have to listen to the poor service guy who is required to try and sell me six different services. It's so much quieter underneath the crv.
You should use only Honda genuine transmission fluid. You can get a gallon of it at your local Honda dealer and change it yourself.
In the transmission?
Honda recommends changing it at 100,000 miles. I personally recommend you change it every 75,000 miles. The 2003 Honda Accord had problems with the transmission so I would recommend this as a preventative measure.
the engine oil and trans oil is all in one!
Same place you check the fluid level.
it has to be pumped into the bottom of the transmission
Only Honda ATF z1 fluid don't use anything beside that
Remove transmission oil pan to access fluid and filter
