How do you change your avatar name on Poptropica?

You can't. A username identifies your character (the avatar name such as Leaping Whale) and is linked to your password. You can change your password, but if you forget either your username or your password, the account is essentially lost for good.

It is possible to change your username through a direct request, but this can affect your status on the islands. In at least one case, the username change led to a complete reset of the islands and loss of all credits. It is possible to create any number of new accounts with any available username. Credits, however, cannot be shared among accounts.

You can't. The "Poptropica name" (e.g. Brave Eagle) and your username (e.g. Bill1234) are the identifying feature for your avatar and your account. You can have more than one account, and change passwords for an account, but you cannot rename an account.

You cannot change your username if you have already saved your person. You can change your password by going to the star in the left hand corner of the screen.
