Most motorcyles have a liguid clutch which means they run in motor oil so when you change your motor oil you are changing your (gearbox) transmission oil and to check your (gearbox) transmission oil level you check the motor oil level.
How to check if there is oil in my gearbox and where does the nut sit and what kind of oil do i use
2.1 litres - fill until it leaks out the bung hole.
With the bike on its centerstand, the gearbox oil level should be just at the bottom of the hole for the fill plug.
for starters....is it manual or automatic,,,,big difference......on a manual,,,you have to get under the car to to the gearbox,,,,,then find the gearbox plug bolt,,,then fill the gearbox to that level....automatic is very different
fill or check through the speedo cable hole. theres a 10mm size bolt on the gearbox at the end of the speedo cable end area, undo this bolt and remove flat locating tab and pull at the cable (might a little tight) the fill mark is just above the white speedo gear.
You need to drain the plug until it loosens then remove the upper gearbox fill plug. This procedure will prevent you from refilling before draining the oil.
You can top off the oil in the gearbox on a 206 Zest by removing the fill plug on the top of the gearbox and using a funnel to fill with oil.
pull drain plug on bottom of crankcase. remove filter. Replace new filter. replace drain plug. fill oil to given line. simple.
how do I fill the gearbox oil on a vauxhall vectra
Same place you check the level.
Take out the VSS and fill trough the sensor hole.
