By far the easiest way without a professional cleaner is a product called Pool Cage Plus. (www.poolcageplus.com) Shoots 25 feet to get the top of the pool cage. And you don't have to do crazy things like your pool brush and scrub it.

Can you clean scaling and dirt stains from a plaster pool without draining?

If your pool filter is up and running, also it is best to clean the walls and floor if you have a normal to high chlorine level because this will be also your cleaning agent. Take a soft bristle brush, get in the pool and start cleaning, all the above should come off. it is better if the filter is running so you can vac out the dirt, when the dirt goes to the bottom of the pool.

Can a pool get orange algae?

If you have a severe black algae problem that you have been mitigating for years and can't get rid of can getting a very dark blue liner help to hide the black algae stains?

In a word ~ NO. If the algae bloom is that severe maybe a replaster is in order. Sounds like you need to be more diligent on chemistry in the pool along with proper filtration among other things. Sounds like a problem of neglect. Black algae will bore into the plaster unlike green algae. It is very difficult to get rid of especially on rough plaster. You cannot cover over it or paint over it. Oh, the dark blue liner or any liner can and will cover and hide the algae problem but you will still have the algae problem and in fact compound the problem. The algae could bore through the new liner and then where will you be - - right back in the same boat. k

What is yellow algae and how do you recognize it?

Yellow algae, also known as mustard algae, is a type of algae that commonly grows in swimming pools. It appears as yellow or mustard-colored patches or streaks on pool surfaces, walls, or steps. It can be recognized by its slimy texture and ability to cling to surfaces, as well as its resistance to brushing and chlorine treatment.

How can you remove stains from wood chips in a salt system pool?

My experience is that the stains will go away by themselves, through the effects of the chlorination of the water. Does not matter if the pool is a salt pool or fresh water pool. If the pool has a plaster finish, brushing the stains with a wire pool brush will speed up the process.

Why has Burnout 35 left black stains on the bottom of a plaster pool and how can you remove them?

This must be an algaecide of some sort possible a low grade of chlorine. Did you follow the instructions EXACTLY? Is this product supposed to settle on algae spots? If not , did you brush it to keep it from clumping and settling on the bottom of the pool? The black stains, possible caused by the product burning the plaster where it settled --- improper use of product. Impossible to know without seeing the stains and finding out just how you used the product. Contact Bioguard for further info.

How do you determine what kind of paint is on your swimming pool?

First you have to determine if is in fact a painted pool. If it is a plaster pool then usually there is no paint unless it was painted because of age and damaged plaster. You most likely do not want to paint a plaster pool - have it acid washed to clean plaster. Not sure how to determine what type paint. You would have to have the paint chips anaylized to determine if it is a chlorinated base paint or epoxy paint. Ken
