Remove the three screws on the bottom of the front panel. you will see the plastic pump ( has the big ruber hose hook to t) on the front of the pump there is a large plastic screwed on cover turn counter clokwise to remove than the fillter pulls straight out.

What does F02 mean on a Whirlpool duet washer?
Whirlpool Duet front-load washer F02 usually means it is taking over 8 minutes for the washer to sense that the rinse or wash water has drained, which either means that the drain/filter is clogged or the pressure switch/tube is clogged (causing both the washer to over-fill with water and not sensing that water has drained). To clear out the drain/filter, tilt the washer backwards a little for easier to the kick-plate and support the front bottom with a wood block or similar, remove the front kick-plate's (3) retaining screws and swing the kick-plate up out of the way. The filter drain is behind the white knob in the center, be prepared with something to catch any remaining water and lots of towels to soak up any spills, and turn the knob counter-clockwise to remove the filter.
