You would need either a S-Video, or HDMI out on the computer or a RGB or DVI in on the TV. If you have neither of these you can purchase a graphics card with HDMI out relatively cheap. Once installed you simply connect the cable. Anything less that HDMI/DVI will be hard to read as the resolution will be very low.

Many new computers have either a DVI or an HDMI display port. These are the digital replacements to the 15 pin VGA connector that has been around for many years.

Almost all new televisions have an HDMI input. If the computer has an HDMI output, then a simple HDMI cable should carry both video and audio to the television.

If the computer has a DVI output, a DVI to HDMI cable can be used because the video element of HDMI is identical to the DVI signal. Unfortunately, DVI does not support audio so a separate cable will be needed for the audio signal. Because of the lack of audio support on DVI, most televisions have at least one HDMI input that has a separate analog audio input that is linked to the HDMI port.

Finally, there are a number of televisions that have VGA inputs and can accept VGA directly. Others have a set of five RCA or phono sockets normally marked as R, G, B, H, V. The five connectors will normally handle a VGA signal with the right adaptor cable.

That depends on the type of computer and the type of "TV".

I will give some information for you and hopefully it will be helpful.

Most computers made in the last few years use a type of connection called "DVI" to connect to "Monitors" which are essential high resolution digital displays. Not very dissimilar to "TV's" as you put it. A modern HD TV, such as a plasma or LCD TV will usually, if not almost always, accept a type of connection called "HDMI".

HDMI and DVI are (almost) electronically identical. One can get a converter to allow him/her to change his DVI output on his video card to HDMI which will allow you to connect to a TV with that kind of connector on it.

You will be limited to a resolution of 1280x720 (in the case of a 720p tv) and 1920x1080 (in the case of a 1080p) tv.

However, you will not be able to send audio over a DVI link like if you had connected a DVD or Bluray player to your TV. That can only be done over pure HDMI to HDMI. Good news however, a good deal of modern graphic cards for machines are allowing pure HDMI connections and WILL usually send audio over the connection to the TV Speakers.

I recommend reading up on your card before you choose.

There are many way to do this. One is with HDMI cable from computer to TV, this give you sound and video. Also you have VGA option which gives video but no sound. Third is with a TV that you connect devices to through wifi, or a device like Xbox where you connect to the Xbox via Microsoft media player.

In order to connect your computer to your television you have to have an input/output port that is compatible with the input ports on your television. If you have an HDTV, you will have to use a cable to connect your Television to your computer, you should be able to use an HDMI cable to link both of them together, and that will also allow for Audio. After you connect the two, turn off your computer and set it on the right input that will match the computer (otherwise you will NOT see a change). Turn on your computer, and you should be able to access the internet using your television as a monitor.
