How do you convert pixel into inch?

It isn't as simple as that. A pixel is 'PICture ELement' and has no set size value of it's own. It's kind of like asking how many bricks are in a metre - that would depend on the size of the brick.

The only value that will aid you in working out how many pixels are in an inch would be the PPI (pixels per inch) value of the image you are working with. If you are working with an image that has a PPI value of 300, then there are 300 pixels in 1" of that image.

By dividing by the number of pixels in an inch which depends upon the device.

With a monitor capable of difference resolutions when displaying on the same screen,this will obviously vary, with the higher resolutions having a higher number of pixels per inch.

Some possible values are 72 px/in, 96 px/in, 105 px/in, 110 px/in.

A monitor itself will be manufactured with a dot per inch resolution which is how many dots it can display per inch and will use 1 or more dots per pixel.

A printer's resolution is usually around 300 or 600 dots per inch (or higher) and when you print a picture it will assign a number of dots to each pixel.

So if you have a photo that is say 3296x2472 pixels:

• on a monitor:
  • with a resolution of 96 px/in:

3296 ÷ 96 ≈ 34.5 in

2472 ÷ 96 ≈ 26 in

ie the display will be about 34.5 in x 26 in

• with a resolution of 110 px/in:

3296 ÷ 110 ≈ 30 in

2472 ÷ 110 ≈ 22.5 in

ie the display will be about 30 in x 22.5 in

• on a printer with a resolution of 600 dpi:
  • printed at 2 dots per pixel (ie 300 pixels per inch):

3296 ÷ 300 ≈ 11 in

2472 ÷ 300 ≈ 8 in

ie the print will be about 11 in x 8 in

• printed at 1 dot per pixel (ie 600 pixels per inch):

3296 ÷ 600 ≈ 5.5 in

2472 ÷ 600 ≈ 4 in

ie the print will be about 5.5 in x 4 in.

You cannot. A pixel does not have a fixed size. In fact, the number of pixels per centimetre is a measure of the resolution of an image or image processor.
