Check your package. If you use Israeli or Pearl cous cous you have to boil it for a few minutes more like pasta.

Hi, you don't have to cook it, you just shake some into a bowl and cover with boiling water, put a tea towel over the bowl to keep the steam in, and leave for about 10mins. When ready, you can then flavour with a knob of butter, maybe some roasted vegetables thrown in, but we have recently been buying ready flavoured ones - i can highly recommend Ainsley Harriets Moroccan Medley, don't know if its avail US, as we are UK.
