How do you describe what a sloth does?
Some would say that sloths have many purposes. One main purpose they serve is, making a good habitat for other organisms such as moths, beetles, cockroaches.
Pi Patel chose the sloth because its demeanour is calm, quiet and introspective and did something to soothe his "shattered self." He then goes on to describe how the three-toed sloth is unaware of the outside world and yet always has a good-natured smile on his face, and finds the creatures indolence to be highly intriguing.
There are actually six different species of sloth living today. They are listed below. Three-toed sloths: -Pale-throated sloth (Bradypus tridactylus) -Brown-throated sloth (Bradypus variegatus) -Maned sloth (Bradypus torquatus) -Pygmy Three-toed sloth (Bradypus pygmaeus) Two-toed sloths: -Hoffman's Two-toed sloth (Choloepus hoffmanni) -Linnaeus's Two-toed sloth (Choloepus didactylus)
