How do you determine if a 16 gauge Riverside shotgun is chambered for 2 9-16'' instead of 2 3-4'' and is 2 9-16 ammunition available?
no doubt that many 2 3/4" shells have been fired in shotguns
chambered for 2 9/16" but it is not considered safe. It is a easy
fix for a gunsmith to lengthen the chamber to 2 3/4' if the gun is
safe to fire. Magnum or heavy loads are not recommended for most of
these old shotguns
