The only way to really know if you have endometriosis is by having laparoscopic surgery. In the surgery, there is a camera that is put through a small incision by your belly button. The camera will show if there is endometrial tissue growing in areas that it should not be. However, there are some symptoms that will indicate the possibility of endometriosis without a laparoscopy. These may include, and are not limited to: irregular periods, bleeding in between periods, pain in the abdomen area, difficulty conceiving, vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. There are many women that never have any symptoms at all. So if you suspect you may have it, visit your OB GYN to discuss your concerns.

If you really infected with it, don't worry, it is curable. The TCM herbal medicine has been proven effective on curing endometriosis by many clinic cases. There is no doubt that TCM has more advantages such as no side effect and no drug resistance as well. We may as well take herbal medicine fuyan pill for example; fuyan pill has the functions of clearing heat and removing toxin, activating blood and resolving stasis, and resolving dampness which can help patients eliminate symptoms and restore health.

Endometriosis is only positively diagnosed via laprascopic surgery.

Endometriosis - even Stage 4 - is not viewed by any visual test - ultrasound, MRI, CT, etc. It also is not found by any laboratory testing - urine, blood, etc.

Suspicions of endometriosis by your doctor will arise from a combination of symptoms you may be having and how long you have been having them, such as:

* Fatigue * Painful cramping

* Painful sexual intercourse

* Pelvic pain, both during menstruation and other times of your cycle * Abnormal menstrual cycle

* Abnormal menstruation Your doctor may attempt some of these tests, laboratory and visual, to rule out any other possible causes, but only a laprascopic "exploratory" surgery will positively diagnose you (meaning, he can put it on paper and sign off on the diagnosis).

Some are:

Painful Periods

Trouble conceiving

Painful Sex

But you so go straight to your doctor.

The following symptoms can indicate endometriosis:

Painful or heavy periods, the pain being in the lower abdomen or back;

Pain during and after sex;

Bleeding between periods;

Difficulty becoming pregnant.

There are other possible symptoms, but a doctor will need to confirm the diagnosis.

Does endometriosis smell?

Endometriosis does not necessarily have an odor, or at least not one that you would be able to detect, since endometriosis is inside of you. If you are experiencing vaginal odor, it is most likely not endometriosis, and you should visit your OB GYN with your concerns.

Could you have endometriosis if you already have a child?

Yes. Having a child does not protect you from endometriosis. While having endometriosis often makes becoming pregnant difficult for women, becoming pregnant will also reduce the symptoms of endometriosis. So, being diagnosed with endometriosis after having a child makes it rather difficult for your doctor to determine whether you had endometriosis prior to the pregnancy or if it became an issue post-pregnancy - especially if you were positively diagnosed with endometriosis shortly after giving birth.

Do you have periods if you have endometriosis?

All women are different. Some women with endometriosis will not have regular periods. However, there are also women with endometriosis that either have irregular periods, or even those that have very regular periods. If you think you may have endometriosis, see your OB GYN.

Is endometriosis hereditary?

There are various proposed theories about the aetiology of endometriosis. Dr Stephen Kennedy of Oxford University has an interest in genetic endometriosis research. There does seem to be evidence that for some families, endometriosis is hereditary for first degree relatives and that it may be more symptomatic in the second family member.

Can endometriosis spread to other organs?

Yes. The most common areas for endometriosis adhesions are in the abdominopelvic cavity, but there have been documented cases of endometriosis appearing on the lungs and even in the mucous membranes of the nose!
