Insulate the speedometer cluster, there's too much electrical "noise" surrounding it. That causes the signals to get confused; happens on all fords and AMCs that I know over time.

No, it does not. It's all electronic.

Had the same problem off and on in my 1999 Taurus. The speedometer needs to be replaced. The problem is in the speedometer and not the transmission like I was initially led to believe. My mechanic said it wasn't that big of a repair.Coincidentally, the vehicle speed sensor feeds information to both the speedometer and the transmission....See "Related Questions" below for more

During the winter months in the Northern Hemisphere, Taurus is above and to the right of the unmistakeable constellation Orion. If you follow the 3 stars of Orion's Belt, up to the right, you will come to a reddish looking star. This is Aldebaran. It is in Taurus. It is on one side of a v-shaped pattern of stars, all of which are part of Taurus. Further up and to the right you will see a cluster of stars called the Pleiades, often called the Seven Sisters, although there are more than 7 stars in the cluster. The Pleiades is also part of Taurus.

You remove the wire cluster then unbolt the hinges from the frame, leaving them on the door.

It is non-servicable, so repair requires replacement of the speedometer/odometer assembly.

Easy. Car does not have one. It is an electronic speedometer. It uses a Vehicle Speed Sensor. Better look again partner, it has a cable, unless its a sho or lx with a digital dash !!
