Replace the plugs: change the oil and filter. Check the air filter and replace if needed. Replace the fuel filter if it is more than 25,000 miles or 5 years old.
That's about it!
very helpfull
Scan for codes, some parts store do it free.
V6 using good parts will probably be 4-500$ depending on options, year, & parts replaced
A tune up for a 1998 Ford Taurus can cost varying amounts of money. This depends on where you get it done at. It might cost you $100 or it could cost over $500.
Had same problem with 1998 ford contour gl. Replaced transmission range sensor and problem stopped.
What are the parts for a standard tune up for a 1988 Ford Taurus?
lift up the powersteering reservior, then with a 10mm socket unscrew the bolt holding the computer harness
On the side, about half way up. I believe a 3/8 rachet fits in it to unscrew.
In short, the answer is "No." The longer version is that while they will bolt up, the transmissions for the V6 are made with different ratios than the transmissions for the 4-cylinders. The computers for the engines are programmed for the "right" transmissions, and I seriously doubt the driveability would be acceptable.
No more than any other "regular" tuneups.
A tune-up for a 2000 Ford Taurus is anywhere from $175, to $230
My 1999 is up to 303,000 and going strong.
