egr is located near intake air horn follow metal tube from left exhaust manifold up to egr valve
Unless you definitely know the valve is bad and needs to be replaced, check to be sure the 2 ports in the throttle body elbow are clean. To do this, you will need to remove the intake elbow on top of the engine. Usually they will be plugged with carbon. This yielded a P0401 code for my truck.
