How do you repair oil getting into spark plug tubes on a 1997 Plymouth Breeze?

Buy a valve cover gasket kit & it will include the seals that keep oil from getting in the tubes. You pull the valve cover & the seals are in the cover. You remove them from the inside. Make sure you understand how they go back in. There is a taper on the inside of the seal. This has to face the inside of the valve cover.PatPortland, OR.

Smoke from exhaust from 02 highlader goes away after warm up?

You have bad, dried out valve seals. When the engine is off, the seals dry up and allow oil to leak into the cylinder, which burns off as the somke you see on startup. But when the car warms up, oil gets back into the valve seals and they swell up enough to keep more oil from dripping into the combustion chamber, so the smoke goes away.

Symptoms of Valve seals leaking?

If the valve stem seals are bad the intake valves will "suck" oil into the cylinders. One common indicator of worn valve stem seals is to take your foot off the accelerator for several seconds when going downhill, then watch for smoke when you step on the accelerator again. If you see a puff of BLUISH smoke, you probably have bad valve stem seals. The catalytic converter can become oil fouled so that would be another indicator that you might have valve stem seal problems.

Why is oil coming out of your motorcycle exhaust?

This could be caused by a clogged PCV valve, worn internal seals, or worn valve guides. A clogged PCV valve will pressurize the engine internally, which force oil past important seals into the exhaust stream. Likewise with worn seals, oil simply leaks out. Worn valve guides makes it possible for oil to seep down the exhaust valve into the exhaust stream.

Will restore oil formula help valve seals?

No. I've been using it for 7 or 8 oil changes. Still blows smoke on start-up (leaking valve seals), but I have noticed an improvement in acceleration and fuel mileage. There is no magic formula that will rejuvenate valve seals, only replacement.
