How do you get a lazy guinea pig to exercise?

you can make sure that they have a large roomy cage and if there is more then one in the cage then they might play tag and run around together. don't give them wheel or ball because their spine is not meant to be arched in that way (even though they may seem to love it) and it can seriously injure them. make sure they have lots of fun toys. you can also make them a run or a play pen thing or buy one from the store. pretty much an enclosure so they won't go where you don't want them too.

oh just wanted to add one thing... if you're asking this cause your guinea pig is fat then you should also make sure that you are not feeding too much cause it could be more about food than excercise.

Look, sorry to disappoint, but guinea pigs aren't "active" animals. They are just used to the boring old life of eating, sleeping and wandering a few centimeters every now and then. They're kinda like old cats, so please, for your guinea pig's sake, don't try to force it into doing anything that it doesn't want to do in order to make it more active. Buy a dog.

my guinea pig was getting very fat because he was lazy. I found out that it was his claws. they were too long. once i cut them he was happy and now he is losing his fat. if ur guinea pig's claws are short then you might get it to run by using food. having a variety of toys also helps the guinea pig excersize.

Do not ever put a guinea pig in a hamster ball it could easily break their spine!!!!!!!!!

Just buy them an outside run then in the summer put then in it. But you will have to regally move it because they eat the grass, this will also mow your lawn. Put them in their hutch for the night.
