What do you feed a dog who is a picky eater?

Try clear liquids like beef broth. At the outset, the real problem will be keeping the dog hydrated. Nothing lives long without water. Broth will do (and don't use the Sodium Free broth -- the dog will need electrolytes).

Try varying the dog's diet. If they like steak -- until this passes, get them a steak. Try and find something they'll eat, and then feed them in moderation until the problem passes.

If the dog has diarrhea, this problem is more acute, as the animal is likely expelling more water than he's taking in.

If you absolutely can't get them to eat, and especially drink, it's time to see a Vet.

Sometime the dog owner can create this behavior. Often if you give a dog a certain amount of time to eat; say five to ten minutes and then remove the food it will learn to eat what you give it right away. It usually only take a few days to a week to teach this. Unless there is something physically wrong with the dog they will eat when they are hungry.

Don't feed it any people food. It will eventually come through and eat the dog food. If it doesn't eat its dog food, try a different brand. If it wont eat wet food, try dry food, vice versa. if that doesn't work Look up what breed the dog is and what food it will usually eat
