Add antifreeze in the coolant tank on the pass. Side fender till it won't take anymore. Now start the car up and run till gets very warm. ( Should reach above normal operating temp.--this is ok). Now turn off the car and add fluid as it takes it in. This is heating and burping the air out of the coolant system. These cars are known for getting alot of air trapped in the system. I let it run till the temp. gauge gets about 3/4 the way up and turn it off. Make sure you are adding coolant in while it's off or it will just suck air in. You'll have to do this a few times till it doesn't take anymore when it cools down with the engine off. Then it's ready to drive. Count on it taking you a while but it's just a lot of waiting. Good luck
where is the radiator drain plug on a chev cavalier
Check the fan relay for the 1996 Cavalier. Also, check the coolant sensor, one of these is most likely bad.
Open the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator on the Cavalier if the plug is there. If the radiator is the model that does not have the plug, then the bottom hose needs to be removed to drain the coolant.
**I meant to add that the radiator cap is not to be found on this vehicle. Can it go into the coolant fill tank?
There is no cap for the radiator. To add anti-freeze to your radiator you have to fill it from the overflow. To find that trace a small rubber hose from the top of the radiator to what should be a plastic container
There is no actual "radiator cap" due to the fact you have DexCool and an overflow with a pressure vent cap on it already. That is where you fill it up anyway....
To replace the thermostat on a 91 Cavalier you need to drain the radiator. Remove the top radiator hose and water inlet. Remove the thermostat from under the inlet. Install the new thermostat and reinstall the inlet and hose. Fill the radiator with fresh antifreeze.
The 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier radiator drain petcock is located on the bottom of the radiator. The drain will be towards the right side of the radiator.
The coolant level sensor is faulty.
all you have to do is run water hoes in the hood of your car and start it why the water is running in to it =)
Connected to the upper radiator hose. Coolant flows from the engine to the radiator to be cooled. The coolant temp. sensor should be screwed into it.
The drivebelt routing decal on the radiator shroud to help during drivebelt install
A new Chevrolet Cavalier radiator will cost approximately $500. There is about four hours of labor to remove and replace the radiator.
It is located under the plastic radiator fill tank They only cost about $7 to $9 for the sensor as I bout one today for a 96 Cavalier 2.2
the overflow res. cap is the radiator cap on the 97 cavalier
I believe there isn't one, just the surge tank cap. All the fluids are added from there.
Drain coolant from radiator plug located either at bottom or rear of radiator Re-fill slowly to prevent an "airlock"
where do you fill radiator on 2001 ford taurus
At the bottom, or rear fo the radiator or remove lower radiator hose.
Take radiator cap off, fill radiator with coolant, put cap back on!
The radiator overfill tank is the only spot to fill the radiator. There is no fill cap on the radiator itself.
It is on the bottom of the radiator. Sometimes it is easier to remove the lower radiator hose.
Should be at the bottom or rear of radiator or remove lower radiator hose
Either at the bottom or the rear of the radiator
In the plastic jug on the left firwall be sure to fill it to the "COLD" line if the engine is cold which it should be or you would not have opened the cap.
