Look in your divorce file for a copy of your marriage certificate. If that's not possible then request a copy of your marriage certificate from the town clerk where you were married. It will show the date of your marriage. Obtain a copy of your divorce decree from the court where you were divorced. Then, do the math yourself from the dates shown on those documents.

Marriage licenses are filed with the County Clerk or County Recorder where the parties lived at the time of the ceremony. You will need the date and name of the parties. Using the free website "Vital Statistic Records Resources" you can access any of the counties by choosing a state and then scrolling to your specific County. There you will find either contact information or a direct link for "Marriage Licenses."

In most jurisdictions in the United States, you contact the recorder in the county where the marriage took place and ask for a copy of the marriage certificate. Most jurisdictions charge a fee -- less than $20, usually -- to research, copy, and mail the certificate.

Marriage Licenses are issued by county clerk offices. If the license was issued locally, it would be recorded in the local county court house clerk's office.
