I know it sounds too simple but , I have the same problem on my 92. Just crawl under and tap on the 4x4 solenoid with a wrench or small hammer. it's next to the transfer case. I still have to do this every once in a awhile
THERE IS ALSO A FUSE FOR IT SO YOU MAY CHECK FOR IT.
There is possible the switch could be bad or the 4x4 shift module located behind passenger side kick panel. there is a code you cane check for that. write me if you need help on that @ blewknight2@Yahoo.com or the electric module on the transmission.
most likely a selector arm is broken
To engage the wheel for 4x4 operation, the selector should be set to the "Lock" position.j3h.
the electric servo and or the switch is bad.could be one or the other. A common problem if not used in some time.
If you have the Control Trac 4 x 4 system and the rotary selector dial is in the auto position , yes it does
when i try to engage 4xhigh from2xh both 4xh and 4xlow flasg green and wont engage, what could be the problem
Well is it actually engaging into 4WD? If so, then you do simply have a problem with the lights. However, if you don't notice the transfer case engage, you may have a problem with either the push button system or the transfer case itself.
when i try to engage the wheel wheel drive it grinds i have my truck in neutral what could be the problem what am i doing wrong
They engage in complex reasoning and problem solving.
People who travel to foreign lands and spend extended periods of time there, are likely to engage in the process of acculturation.
First you put the vehicle on Neutral then swithc to 4LO it will engage. If a wheel doesn't engage, then you have a vaccum line problem. See owners manual.
If the shift lever on the floor won't move to engage there is most likely a linkage problem. If the linkage seems to move and you shift the lever under the dash from 2wd to 4wd and the transfer case does not engage look for a vacuum problem. the lines can be very brittle and break easily. There is a vacuum motor on the transfer case that must work in order to engage the 4wd. if all of these seem to work then the problem is likely to be internal.
If the cruise control will not engage, there might be a problem with the Electronic Fuel Injector or the MAP Sensor. There might also be a problem with the Oxygen Sensor. Some autos have more than one oxygen sensor.
same problem, did you ever find the solution?
why did rome engage carthage in the punic wars
You should be able to hear it engage-there is a clutch. If not, check the hot wire when someone turns on with a test light. If it has juice & does not engage, you may have a problem.
You need to hold it sideways and push all four buttons. You need to hold the buttons for 1 minute...this will reset the time and the 24hr clock, the hypergear can then engage the analog fluxcopaciter and whala your watch is perfect!
The shift censor could be going bad. There may also be a problem with the transmission linkage which would cause this problem.
No. The buttons operate the shift motor on the transfer case. The only way would be to swap in a manual transfer case.
Is the car auto or manual? check fluidlevels first, have you noticed any burning smells prior to problem? Does it not engage in all gears including reverse?
Low or no refrigerant Blown Fuse Defective pressure switch Bad clutch on compressor Selector switch
is it the turn dial 4x4 selector or the manual selector?if its the dial it could be a bad motor that engages the hubs. It could be the vacuum switches in the engine compartment on the passenger side, with ours it was the one that kept it in 2 wheel drive that was gone, vented vacuum so 4x4 would not pull in.
if its the same as mine, the on and off are on the left, and the = + - are on the right. they are for your cruise control. on turns it on, =sets the speed, and + makes the cruise control engage.
Check to see if one of the door buttons are stuck or a wire may be bad.
