I have found that a Chilton or Haynes Auto repair manual for the year and make of the vehicle (available at your local library)are an excellent source of information. They are quite informative on most parts replacement and how to troubleshoot.

check the following; fuses, relays, regulator, window motor, off track, window switch. did not specify if it was manual or electric.
Electric Window problemIf you haven't checked already, check to see if the window is in the track and not out of the track and then check the regulator to see if one or more teeth are broken or may have come disconnected. Take the outer door panel off then unbolt the old window from the track then place the new window in the track this will take sometime because the new window has to go in at an angle before you place the new window in the track make sure the track is at the bottom of the door use your hand tp place the window all the way down in the door then bring the window all the way up holding it with one hand at the bottom of the window you need to put the window all the way to the bottom first to make sure the window clips aline in the window track. roll the bottom of the track up intill you can bolt the new window in but be careful if you tighten down the window to tight it will break the put the door panel back on
