if trans shift is affected, then losing signal to PCM from trans if not affected then losing signal to dash or dash itself is problem use scanner to see if VSS is showing speed when dash does not
The logical problem - would be a broken speedo cable. The speedo & odometer are both run from the same cable.
A 2004 Buick does not have a speedometer cable. The speedometer signal comes from electronic sensors.
There is not an individual or separate fuse for the odometer
its an LED display and a part of the instrument/speedometer cluster. You can remove it, ship it, and have it repaired for $100-$200 Speedometer repair on ebay, in CT...very reliable service Addition: You cannot remove the odometer from the circuitboard. The problem lies within the board, not the odometer display. I can refurbish the whole board back to factory specs. Contact me at ANCTechnologies at hotmail
there is no light bulb for the odometer. its a digital display. you have to replace the dash. used usally a 100. or so. had it happen to me. 2000 buick regal gs
speedometer--vehicle speed sensor is in trans near pass side axle
The odometer is held in with 3 screws to the instrument panel, and an electrical connector plugs into the circut board on the instrument panel, unplugs easily. Then the motor that drives the odometer can be unscrewed and taken off. We're going to get another one from another Buick at a junkyard and screw & plug it in, and hopefully it will start working. I took the instrument panel out of our 92 Buick Regal, (took off the bolts (really screws with bolt heads) for the top dash pad and pulled it out, very easy). Then the instrument panel can be unscrewed (4 screws/bolt heads) and easily pulled out, leave the transmission PNDD2L indicator attached, or 2 screws on the bottom of the instrument panel and it comes out, and took the face plates off the instrument panel to get at the odometer.
Hi there, there should be a dial or knob that adjusts the brightness of your interior lights. i have an 06 dodge ram, an there is a spin dial on my left side an you have to turn it up or you cannot see the tach, odo, or speedometer. Hope that was helpful
Check side of transmission
Do you have check engine light? If not you have an electrical problem within the speedometer assembly.
search for instrument cluster repair in search engine
You have to replace the instrument cluster in most cases.
