if the line is leaking with a hack saw cut a gap out of the line after you removed the gas cap to release pressure in the system.replace the gap with ta small piece of water hose and two hose clamps.this is only a temporary fix that can last for years.it is best to replace the the entire line i have never done this.

the answer above is a perfect example of what NOT to do. if you use hose designed for water the fuel will eat the inner liner of the hose and send sediment into your motor.

is it fuel-injected? if it is that means the fuel system runs under high pressure which must be sustained with specialty fuel lines. they now have specialty rubber fuel-hose for FI cars; its fantastic. you can tie it up with tough cable ties for a cheap fix....but make sure you do a good job.

you need to locate the leak and cut the lines far in front and behind it. make sure the the hose will be able to stretch over stock metal lines and put hose clamps on the connections.

run the car in park for at least ten minutes looking for leaks....dealing with fuel on a car is a very serious thing to avoid a potential car fire i.e. fuel leaking on the exhaust.

You need to have it checked for codes. If you fix the cause of the codes the light will stay off.
