You will have to locate the source of the leak before you can fix it. Re-post with your findings.

You have to determine the source of the leak then decide on how to fix it.

depends where the leak is, and how bad it is.

Pressure test system to determine where leak orginates to determine fix

Have cooling system pressure tested to determine origination of leak

by getting a Bars Leakradiator leak at walmart

Coolant leak, possible heater core. Suggest to have it pressure tested to find leak.

It is possible. However, it will be a temporary fix.

A part has failed. Find where the leak starts, and fix that part.

Remove and clean the petcock. Replace and if it still leaks, replace with a new petcock.

You need to have your antifreeze up to par and if it is a leak you are worried about until you get somewhere to have it fixed there are quick fix solutions such as Barr's Leak that you can use it will seal the leak temporarily to get you to where you are going. Do not ever open your radiator cap if your car has been running - only open it when it is cold.

Could be a few things. Does it leak antifreeze? if so, fix the part that leaks. If not, you could have coolant mixing with oil inside the engine, which burns it. check your spark plugs. If they are white, you are probably burning antifreeze - fix immediately. your exhaust will smell "sweet" as well if you are burning antifreeze.

Pretty much going to have to replace it. Because of the pressure involved, there is no easy fix.

i have a 2000 pontiac grand prix that seem to burn alot of antifree

if the leak is at the thermostat housing, make sure you installed the gasket and that is torque down to specs.(you may try some silicone, not too much)

I have a 98 Malibu and I know from experience that antifreeze can leak from the intake gasket. It cost me $400 to fix it. At first we thought it was tranny fluid because it was pink, not that! I have Dexcool in my car and that is what was leaking from the intake. Common problem for the 3800 II; GMs` later 3800s have ALUMINUM intakes; I guess they found the problem, yet they didn`t choose to fix the other cars.....bastards...

No. they're dissolved in each other and are quite hard to seperate.

You need to pressure check the coolant system to determine just what is leaking first and the address that problem..........

I had a 2000 Lincoln LS and the Antifreeze Reservoir had a rash of heat induced cracks on the side facing the Firewall. The antifreeze would ooze and evaporate without leaving a puddle but a whiff of the smell could be noticed on some occasions. My 2005 LS has some of the same cracks but has not started to leak or ooze antifreeze. Also on my 2005 LS there was an upper hose leak but only with 16 psi or more of pressure.

caused by leaking heater core not radiator heater it is under the dash hard ot get to if the leak is not to big use radiator stop leak otherwise fix is going to be big bucks
