there are plastic ones and you just fix it back on but some there would be 2 metal things like a rectangle with out the bottom and then you stick on some holes and it should fix in

Of they are the same type of metal you may be able to weld them together. You can also fix them together by physically bolting them together.
You can do a DIY fix on a punctured oil drum using metal mesh, pliable tiles, and a metal grade heat resistant epoxy in order to keep the oil from leaking with the aid of a mechanic.
