The problem could be valve seals or excessive piston ring blowby. You could try changing the pcv valve on the valve cover and check the line going to the intake plate to make sure its not stopped up or the intake plate isn't stopped up.
However, it most likely means that the piston rings are worn out are broken. Time for a engine rebuild. That is the only way to fix that problem.
The oil is probably coming in through the crankcase breather tube and into the air breather assembly. You either have a faulty PCV system or a very tired engine with "blowby".
Whether you do it through the valve covers or elsewhere, yes the engine needs positive crankcase ventilation.
The WHOLE engine was BLUE from the factory.
One of the valve covers.
17 ft.lbs.
The crankcase is the inside of the bottom of the engine where the crankshaft is bolted in the engine. The oil pan covers it all up.
One can purchase Chevy seat covers from the official Chevy webpage. Alternatively, one could buy Chevy seat covers from webpage stores such as Amazon or Ebay.
There are 4 bolts through the middle of the covers size 3/8 or 10mm, you may have to move accessories out the way
It is in the air intake hose coming from the air filter box going to engine
It is in the engine compartment, up by the fire wall, left of the engine, on the plastic that covers the AC climate control system.
It is either time for a oil and filter change or the engine is low on oil.
Yes. The exhaust will be different, and if it's a big engine going in and a small engine coming out, you might need a bigger radiator.
