You either have a blown fuse, defective blower motor, defective blower motor switch, or a defective blower motor resistor pack.

blower resistor is bad
Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 1996 Chevrolet blower motor. Remove the blower motor retaining bolts. Remove the fan from the blower motor. Reverse the process to install your new blower motor.
there might be an inner fuse that blew. best thing to do is probably change the whole unit. check at a local junk yard. that year might be cheap.

It is on the right hand side of the vehicle near the right fender. You lift up the hood, locate the blower motor, remove screws and replace it. Should be able to find it visually. The fan is attached to the blower motor shaft. It can be removed off the motor after the assembly is removed from the vehicle.
Blower motor speed resistor is partially burned out.
Could be hi-speed fan relay or secondary winding in blower motor
it can be replaced but check the resistors first they are probably the cause

Which fan? Blower fan inside the car or cooling fan on the radiator?? Be more specific if you want help. If it's the blower motor, see the answer for how to do it on a 90 model. Up thru 1994 they're all the same procedure.the cooling fan
