1986 Pontiac Firebird 2.8 Liter Firing Order
The 1986 Firebird came with either a 2.8L V6 or a 5.0L V8

The 1986 Pontiac Firebird fan relay switch can be found on the back of the fan motor. The relay switch is connected to the fan motor by two retaining screws.
As far as a direct fit, the 82-92 Firebird/Camaro is the same generation. Any from these years should be a direct bolt in.
The timing should be 8 degrees
Nothing, the GTA didn't come out until 1987.
At or near the power steering pump.

I do belive its the same as the 1985.It would be 123456
Drop the oil pan
timing is adjusted by the ignition module and feed back from sensors
6 cylinder=.045 8 cylinder=.045
On the driverside firewall is first place I would look
there may be a problem with the torque converter or there is a short in a wire some where
Try disconecting positive terrminal of battery for 2 minutes
Bad waterpump, stuck thermostat, bad electric fan, or a plugged radiator.
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 Clockwise Rotation On Distributor
Take the top radiator hose loose from the top of the engine. The thermostat is under there. just pry it off with a screwdriver.
