i have a Citroen c2 vtr 2004 model. I've noticed for the last 4 days now my engine temperature gauge started to climbed to three bars even when 20 minutes distance trip and not even using the heater. when i checked the hood while engine is running i noticed the radiator fan is not running and when i turned on the heater the fan is still not running. whats wrong?
- The thermostat could be broken that is the part that is connected to the side of the engine where the radiator fluid flows in. The fan not working could be a bad ground or or bad connection somewhere this is a tedius process however you should check out all of the wiring to the fan and the fuses and see if there are any problems. Whether the heater is on or off the fans should come on as soon as the vehicle starts.
TURN THE AIR COND ON THIS WILL ALLOW THE FAN TO COME ON,THERE ARE TWO THINGS IT COULD BE ELECTRICALLY ,UNLESS THE FAN MOTOR IS BAD .ONE IS FAN RELAY,TWO THE SENDING UNIT THIS TELLS THE RELAY THE ENGINE IS HOT ENOUGH TO FEED THE RELAY,THUS SENDING 12 VOLTS TO THE FAN.THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM WOULD BE A SENDING UNIT AND OR RELAY,TAKE A PIECE OF WIRE AND GROUND THE SENDING UNIT WITH SWITCH ON, IF THE FAN COMES ON YOU HAVE A BAD SENDING UNIT.LEAVE THE SENDING UNIT PLUGGED UP,GROUND IT BY TOUCHING THE SENDING UNIT TO A PIECE OF METAL SUCH AS A BOLT HEAD OR NEG.SIDE OF BATTERY.
