I don't know how you're supposed to fix it but I'll tell you how I fixed the malfunctioning handle on the rear door of my 1994 E350. First, I removed the upholstered panel with the big pocket by prying off the upholstered buttons with a flat screwdriver which revealed Phillips head screws inside of what look like snaps. I removed all of the screws and the upholstered panel with the big pocket came off. Then I had to remove a half a dozen more screws that held on a piece of plywood. Then I could see the cables that connect the handle to the latch. There was play in the cable. I tightened the cable by drilling a hole in the door just below the window near the Pull Handle (not the handle that operates the latch--the one you use to pull the door closed from the inside.) I took a piece of coat hanger wire and wrapped it around the cable that goes from the door handle to the latch. I ran the other end of the coat hanger wire through the hole I drilled and then pulled it tight and wrapped it around the aforementioned pull handle. I know that's not the way you're supposed to fix it but it works fine and it didn't cost a penny.

Remove the inside door panel. Remove the Allen screw from the window crank linkage. The window crank handles should come off.

How do you remove the drivers side door panel on a 2001 Ford Ranger?

There are 3 screws you are going to remove. One on the arm rest, one on the left bottom of the panel, one on the window handle. pry back on the plastic cover where mounts to door turn cover up and out the way. There is a torx to unscrew an remove handle. Grab bottom of door panel lift up one inch and pull out. panel will be removed. Obviously depending upon the model year there are differences. My 2000 is like the one ststed above. Some clarification will help. There is a thin plastic cover over the window crank itself. It pops out at the large end of the crank bottom and will rotate out of the way so that you can get at the torx screw. The screw holds the handle to the shaft. You can use a flat screwdriver to gently pry the cover away from the large end of the crank handle. No special tool is needed. Once you have the handle off and the two other screws mentioned above, grasp the panel at the bottom and slide up to remove. There are no snap pins holding the panel in place. It slides up and off of the door latch for removal. I had a hard time with this until I discovered the answer myself. I did this to my 2002 Ford Ranger. Window crank cover pops off to expose Torx screw to remove. First, you need to purchase a special door hand removal from your local auto parts store then follow these steps. Remove screws from door panel (bottom left and inside door handle). Then slid door hand removal tool on the reverse side of window crank handle and parrel to door handle. Once in as far as possible, find your self a large flat head screwdriver and put the flat head between the tool and door handle on the top side of the window shaft. Lightly twist the screwdriver and the window crank cover will pop off. Gently pull and lift slightly to expose Torx screen in the center of the door shaft. Once this window crank is off, simply lift the panel off the door. I hope this helped. Good luck. I was able to do this also on a 2001 Mazda B-Series pickup since they are almost identical, especially on the interior. Needed to replace a blown speaker. Worked like a charm. Also, didn't need to buy some special tool. Just used a torx-head screwdriver to remove the handle. Very easy process.

How do you get a manual window crank off a 2001 Hyundai accent?

Hi, This can be a very frustrating procedure. There is a special tool that is used to remove the window crank. With this tool it takes a few seconds to remove it. I would suggest that you go to independent body shop and asked one of the body men to remove it for you, he probably won't charge you anything, but if he does it won't be much. But if you want to try removing it yourself here is a procedure. Make sure the window is in the down position, you will need to wedge a screwdriver or some other tool between the trim panel and the crank, be very careful not to damage the trim panel. Look for a horseshoe shape metal clip, you might have to rotate the crank slightly to be able to see it, now you can try a small pair of needle nose pliers to pull the clip off the crank or you can try to hook the clip with any tool that has a L shape end and will fit between the crank and the trim panel. To replace the handle simply push the clip onto the crank and snap the crank onto the window regulator. Be very careful and very patient.

How do you remove the window handle on your 2001 Chevy truck?

if you push your door panel back and look down in between the door panel and the window handle there will be a little clip that you have to remove. sometimes you can get it with a screwdriver but they make a special tool for it. most body repair shops or car audio shops will have them and sometimes you can get them to pop that clip out for you for a tip.

How do you remove the window arm roller on the driver side of a 2001 Hyundai Accent?

I'm presuming you mean the actual handle you grab. If that's the case, the handle slides over the crank shaft and a "C" shaped spring (actually, it looks just like the Ohm symbol Ω or capital greek letter omega) locks into a notch in the shaft through holes in the handle. What you need to do is remove this spring and then the handle will just pull right off. Something I've found to work is sliding a towel between the handle and the door. It will catch on the points of the spring "Ω" and pull it right off!

How do you replace the drivers window handle on a 2001 Chevy Metro?

buy or make a 1/4" curved pick, approx 6 " long, slightly larger ok, small diameter material. slip it behind the plastic washer around the window crank, feel for the window handle clip, approx the diameter of a paper clip and shaped kind of like an old non spring clothspin, there is room to hook the clip on the top, a gap is provided. give it a tug and watch where it flys to. reinstal the clip before you insert the new crank handle. not difficult, just frustrating the first time. dave
