If you finished Pokemon diamond or pearl and you have the national pokedex ( remember you can only get the national pokedex by completing your original Sinnoh pokedex).You then later go to Spring path which is located below Veilstone city.When you are at the spring path go through Turnback cave go through any door you want. I went through the top doors and I found Giratina just standing there.
The easiest way to catch Giritina is with a timer ball. Make sure you have flying pok'emon because only one move can hurt them by Giritina is slash. Which is weak so you won't get hurt. So waste time and use a timer ball.

- Wait for some event.
- Trade and Arceus into SoulSilver. Show it to the guy in the building in the Ruins of Alph. You then eventually get access to the Sinjoh Ruins. In there you can choose between receiving a level 1 Dialga, Palkia or Giratina.

∙ 11y agoYou'll need to trade over the event Arceus to Pokemon SoulSilver and take it to Ruins of Alph. Cynthia will talk to you about Sinjoh Ruins. You'll need to deposit all your other Pokemon in the PC and take Arceus with you to Ruins of Alph, Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina will appear. They are level 1 and they are holding their orbs. You can only pick one though. The rest of them you'll need to trade over.

∙ 10y agoThey are unobtainable, except if you transfer from Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. Or managed to get the Shiny Event for them just before Pokemon X and Y's release.
