How do you get Raikou in Pokemon Emerald?

Raikou cannot be caught in Pokemon Emerald itself, but must be traded from Pokemon FireRed or Leafgreen. If you chose Squirtle as your starter Pokemon in either of these versions, Raikou will be roaming Kanto after you have defeated the Elite Four and obtained the National Pokedex.

to obtain raikou, YOUR STARTER MUST HAVE BEEN SQUIRTLE.if not, you will get either entei, or suicune. beat the elite 4. get the ruby(located at mt.ember on 1 island)and sapphire(located behind the steel door on 6 island. use cut to enter.) give them to cellio in the pokecenter on 1 island. go to the city where you battled misty and go on the bridge. surf to the cave nearby. CATCH MEWTWO WHEN YOU REACH HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE IS LV. 70 AND KICKS BUTT!!!!! get some repels, a lv.49 or lower wobbuffet, and go to the house by diglett's cave where you catch sandshrew and drowzee. run into the house and out into the grass intil you run into raikou, entei, or suicune. Go to Ecruteak City. In the burned tower. Go to the bottom. See Raikou, Entei, and Suicune run off. Go in the wild and try to find it.

An easy way to do this involves Pokemon over level 25 that can Paralyze, and many, many Max Repels and Fast Balls. Go to Ecruteak, and do the above. Then, you're ready.

Go to the gate at the south (towards where the Sudowoodo was). Use Max Repel. Put Pokemon with PRZ in front. Go on the Bike, or set it to Run, and dash in and out of the grass. You must hear the music change between dashing, as in, dip into the grass, run past the pillars, and repeat. Eventually, you'll come across a Pokemon even though you're repelling everything under whatever level your PRZ-er is. This will be either Entei or Raikou. You can catch both, but one will be slightly more "common".

They will try to flee right off the bat. Try to Prz them right off the bat, then they'll run. Repeat the dash and find. When you find it again, attack it with something that won't kill it. Repeat until they're in the red. Use fast and ultra balls until you catch.

They'll be at level 40. Entei will know Flamethrower, Fire Spin, Roar and Stomp. Raikou will know Spark, QuickAttack, Roar and Stomp. You find Suicune later in the game, in Kanto.

If you kill any legendary, they're gone.

This method depleted my money and patience. However, don't waste a Master Ball on them - save that for Lugia in HeartGold, and HoOh in SoulSilver.

Or Mewtwo.

the real way to get raikou on Pokemon heart gold is after u hav spotted the in the burned tower and they have run away look at the map and u'll c its face go there but don't run strait up 2 it or it will move sum where else. once you have finnally started a battle with it use 1 of ur good attaks (he is lvl 40). after u have dun 1 attak he will flee so i suggest u use the lock thingy so he cant escape. once his health is very low pralyze or put him to sleep or sumin like that then theres ur chance to catch him!!!
